KDRAMA LIBRARY

The Korean Entertainment industry has completely taken the world by storm. With their relatable engaging stories and shippable actors and characters, it is no wonder that we are all enamored. We are consuming every drama created as fast as they can be produced and we keep wanting more. Have you ever wondered why that is?

Because this is my First Life, Korean Drama, Lee Min-ki, Jung So-min, Romantic Comedy

I started watching Korean dramas back in early 2000. During that time I was more interested in the F4 with their claim to fame, Meteor Garden Season 1 and 2. There were already a few Korean dramas being shown in Asia but this time, the Hallyu craze has not started yet. The first one I watched was Song Hye-Kyo’s Autumn in My Heart. It was a beautiful melodrama about a couple who thought they were siblings but turns out they were not. They got separated, meet again, proceeded to fall in love, and deal with a terminal illness. Admittedly, the drama does have its flaws but it is endearing just the same.

Lee Min-ho, Kim Tan, The Inheritors, The Heirs

Cut to June 2017 when I had nothing better to do and got coaxed into watching The Inheritors. What else can I say? I was quickly swallowed up by the world of K Drama vortex. To date, I have watched probably more than a hundred K Dramas and have grown interested in watching Thai, Taiwanese, Chinese and Indonesian dramas as well. Korean Dramas were the gateway for me. It has opened up a whole new world that is fascinating, deeply enthralling, and filled with endless stories.
