STORYLINE
Lie to Me is a Korean drama series that aired from May to July 2011. It revolves around the story of Gong Ah-Jung, played by Yoon Eun-Hye. Ah-Jung is a government worker who starts a lie that spirals out of control and affects her personal and professional life.
Gong Ah-Jung ia a mid-level civil servant at the Ministry of Culture. She accidentally lies about being married to a rich hotel heir named Hyun Ki-Joon, portrayed by Kang Ji-hwan. The rumor spreads like wildfire, leading to misunderstandings and complications.
As the lie becomes more complicated, Ah-Jung and Ki-joon decide to enter into a fake marriage contract to protect their reputations. While pretending to be a couple, they face numerous challenges. These encounters slowly bring them closer to each other. As their relationship develops, they struggle with their true feelings and the consequences of their deception.
Throughout the series, Ah-Jung and Ki-joon deal with misunderstandings and jealousy. They needed to deal with interference of others who try to expose their fake marriage. Meanwhile, they also navigate their individual personal and professional lives. Ah-Jung must face her own shortcomings and insecurities while striving to prove herself at work.
