About the Actor
Song Joong-ki grew up in the outskirts of Daejeon, South Korea. He is the middle child of three siblings with one older brother and a younger sister. He studied Business Administration with a minor in Broadcasting and graduated in 2012 at Sungkyunkwan University with campuses in Seoul and Suwon.
At first, Song Joong-ki’s father was against him being an actor. He eventually accepted what his son chose to do as his career. His breakout role was in the historical coming-of-age drama, Sungkyunkwan Scandal where he played one of the main characters.

- Joong-ki is the middle child of 3 children.
- He was one of the original cast members of the show Running Man.
- One of his accomplishments, when he was younger, was competing on a national level in the short-track speed skating competition for his hometown, Daejeon. He started training during his first grade but eventually stopped due to an accident when he was fifteen years old.
- Song Joong-ki excelled in his studies. He got 380 points out of 400 in the national college entrance exam.
- He made his acting debut in the period film, A Frozen Flower where he played a supporting role.
- According to reports, he was paid KR₩200 Million Korean Won or roughly US$170,000.00 per episode for the drama series Vincenzo. This makes him one of the top paid Korean actors currently.
- He is close friends with fellow actor Lee Kwang-soo, whom he worked with in the variety show Running Man.
- Aside from his accomplishments as an actor, he is also a published author. In 2010 he wrote a book together with beauty editor Hwang Min Young. The title of the book is Beautiful Skin Project For Men, it is written in Korean and became a bestseller on the year it was released.

Upcoming Projects
Song Joong-ki will be starring alongside Lee Hee-joon and Kwon Hae-hyo in a criminal thriller film with the working title Bogota: City of the Lost. The movie experienced multiple delays in shooting because of the pandemic. It was announced in early October that they have finally wrapped up shooting. Song Joong Ki has proven to chose his projects well. He has starred in a few movies, dramas and some guestings in popular recent shows. He appeared in Little Women as a shoe salesman in 2022. SJK also had a guesting as Vincenzo in the series Queen of Tears. It was a dejavu moment when he appeared as Hong Hae In’s (played by Kim Ji Won) divorce lawyer.
SJK is the lead in the series Reborn Rich. It is a series aired in the last quarter of 2022. It is an adaptation of a webtoon novel about murder and betrayal in the world of chaebols. The series is a fantasy revenge drama that has once again proven Song Joong Ki’s acting prowess in a role that challenged his versatility as an actor.
