About the Actor
Ahn Hyo-seop is a Korean-Canadian actor and singer. He was born in Seoul, South Korea but migrated to Toronto, Canada with his whole family when he was seven years old. He adapted Paul as his English name. Hyo-seop was musically inclined. He plays the violin and the piano. He moved back to Seoul when he was seventeen while the rest of his family stayed in Canada to pursue a career in entertainment.

How He Started
He started as a trainee in JYP Entertainment. He debuted as a member of the group One-O-One and released digital singles “Stunning”, and “Love You” in 2015. The group has since disbanded in January of 2019 due to their inactivity. Ahn made his acting debut in a support role the same year with MBC’s two-part mini-drama, Splash Splash Love.
His Rise to Popularity
Since then he has had numerous projects. He rose to popularity for his first-ever lead role in Queen of the Ring as Park Se-Gun, a rich guy who only dates the prettiest girls but falls madly in love with Nan-Hee, a girl who did not believe in herself because she did not think of herself as pretty. He also landed the role of Park Chul-soo in the family drama, My Father is Strange. Ahn won the “Rookie Award” at the Asia Artist Awards in 2017 for his performance in the series.
Transition to Lead Roles
In 2018, he transitioned to playing lead roles and has continued to gain popularity. His latest drama, A Business Proposal, where he plays the seriously handsome CEO, Kang Tae-Mu alongside actress Kim Se-Jeong as Shin Ha-ri, has received good reviews from audiences worldwide. The series is originally a webtoon novel written by Haehwa. It is a romantic comedy about the female lead going on a blind date disguised as her best friend not knowing that she is meeting the boss of her company.

A Business Proposal
A Business Proposal is a romantic comedy adaptation of a webtoon novel by Haehwa. The series is about a hardworking office worker Shin Ha-ri (Kim Se-Jeong) pretending to be her friend to go on a blind date not knowing that she is meeting up with her new boss, Kang Tae-Mu (Ahn Hyo-seop) who is the CEO of the company she is working at. Ha-ri was being ridiculous and acting very strangely on their blind date thinking that they will never cross paths again. Tae-Mu on the other hand promised himself that he would marry the girl he met on the blind date so his grandfather can stop breathing down his neck about finding a suitable wife.

Abyss

Queen of the Ring
Queen of the Ring is part of the trilogy, Three Color Fantasy. It is a romantic fantasy with three mini-series created for television namely: (White) The Universe’s Star, (Green) Romance Full of Love, and (Gold) Queen of the Ring. All three stories involve a little bit of magic and fantasy which makes for an interesting plot. Queen of the Ring is about Mo Nan-hee (Kim Seul Gi), a plain-looking girl who finds a magical ring that transformed her looks making her instantly very attractive. The most popular guy on campus, Park Se Gun (Ahn Hyo-seop), falls in love with her despite her not being his usual type.
