Kim Soo Hyun

Kim Soo-hyun is a highly acclaimed South Korean actor renowned for his versatility and magnetic screen presence. He earned numerous awards throughout his career. Most notably, four Baeksang Arts Awards, two Grand Bell Awards, and one Blue Dragon Film Award.

His journey into acting began with overcoming his introverted nature through his mother’s encouragement to attend acting classes during his school years. After several theatrical works, Kim made his television debut. In 2007 he starred in the family sitcom Kimchi Cheese Smile. He gained prominence with starring roles in popular television dramas such as Dream High in 2011 and Moon Embracing the Sun in 2012. He also acted in hit films like The Thieves in 2012 and Secretly, Greatly in 2013.

Kim became an international sensation with his role in the fantasy romance series My Love from the Star in 2013–14. This series propelled him to the status of a top Hallyu star. He further solidified his position with the variety drama The Producers in 2015. His role as Baek Seung-chan earned him multiple prestigious awards. Following a brief hiatus due to military service, Kim made a successful comeback. He starred in the romantic comedy It’s Okay to Not Be Okay in 2020, the thriller One Ordinary Day in 2021, and Queen of Tears in the first quarter of 2024.
